Merchant Shipping Act (CAP. 234) Merchant Shipping (Fees) (Amendment) Regulations, 2015

This Regulation shall come into force on the 1st August 2015.

 

The fees payable in respect of any item provided for in the principal regulations, both

before and after the coming into force of these regulations, shall be that applicable on the

day the certificate was issued or the service was given irrespective of when such fees are

being paid.

 

The following new fees have been introduced:

 

Registration of mandate or power of attorney (including the registration                   100

of any notice of cancellation or release thereof) in terms of article 17 of

the MSA

 

Issue of a Declaration of Maritime Labour Compliance                                            50

 

Issue of a Certificate of Compliance in terms of the Commercial Yacht Code              100

 

Renewal of approval of Maritime Training Centre, renewal of approval of                  50% of

maritime training courses and renewal of approval as Designated Auditor                 applicable fee

                                                                                                                  original approval

 

The following fees have been amended as follows:

 

Issue of certificate of insurance or other financial security in respect of                    100

civil liability for oil pollution damage, civil liability for bunker oil pollution

damage, liability for death of and personal injury to passengers or liability

for the removal of wrecks in respect of a ship registered in Malta

 

Issue of certificate of insurance or other financial security in respect of                    250

civil liability for oil pollution damage, civil liability for bunker oil pollution

damage, liability for the death of and personal injury to passengers or liability

for the removal of wrecks in respect of a ship not registered in Malta

 

Approval of Maritime Training Centre to provide courses in terms of the                   3000

certification regulations; and

Approval as Designated Auditor to monitor Maritime Training Centres
